In addition to our experience, science offers robust statistics that support the success of the prosthesis. Studies on patients with penile implants have shown high rates of sexual satisfaction for both the man and his partner.
Joint research by urologists from the Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal and the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria was recently published in the journal of the Spanish Association of Urology. After a 20-year follow-up, the analyses were able to show:
- Satisfaction rate with hydraulic penile prosthesis: 91%.
- Satisfaction rate with malleable penile prosthesis: 71%.
- Couple satisfaction rate: 80%.
This shows a significant improvement, superior to the effectiveness of conventional treatments such as phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors(sildenafil and thaladafil) and locally applied drugs.
What are the aesthetic results of a penile prosthesis?
If they see my penis will they notice the implant?
Maybe when you enter this “results” section, you would expect to find photos or real images of how a penile prosthesis looks in practice. The truth is that you would not notice the difference, since visually, “on the outside”, there is nothing to suggest that there is a prosthesis lodged inside.
It is important to make the correct choice of the prosthesis to ensure that the tip reaches the beginning of the glans. Unlike the corpora cavernosa, the glans will receive blood “naturally” so that when arousal occurs it will acquire sufficient volume for penetration.

After years of experience, implementing the latest surgical techniques, and using the latest generation devices, we usually achieve that there is no appreciable decrease in the length of the penis. But there are exceptions, occasions, in which due to the nature of the characteristics of the case, a shortening is foreseen.
